Is there any way to search text in an image using the cd front end search tool?

No, it would be complex to scan images and automatically recognize texts with OCR. If you need this just insert the same text within the page, immediately below the image (you may insert a white text on a white background if you don't want to actually show the text as the image is sufficient for the graphic layout you like). This way the program will find the page and point to the "invisible" word under the image (it actually goes to the image so...)
