I am looking for a cd documentation program like yours that would allow viewing certain files only depending on a password. This CD would contain a lot of information but only certain files would be of interest for a particular customer. Let's say one customer possesses 3 different devices made by us. One documentation CD(always the same) would be provided but i.e. by entering the serial # of the device, the documentation pertaining to that device ONLY would be accessible. Is this possible?

Yes, not just 3 but you can define up to 128 different group of pages (with up to 128 different passwords) for each document, so you are ok with CDFrontEnd www.cdfrontend.com.
For your purpose it sufficient to define (at least) 3 different pages with 3 different passwords, (a) (b) (c). Within page (a) you put the link for the files for the first device (by using Insert >Link to embedded file, so the files will be unaccessible as they are not available separately on the CD but they are embedded within the brochure file). Page (b) the second, etc. When the user attempts to enter page (a) (say from the main menu), the password (a) will be requested and if he/she does not own it, he/she can not enter the page.
