I am creating a CD with links to PDF documents. When the mouse hovers over the link, the alt over tag pops up stating the name of the page the link leads to. However, with PDFs, it seems to ignore the document name and calls it "ed9dd013.pdf" or similar, changing it every time I try to re-save the document or try to call it by another name. Sometimes it works but often doesn't. Does it do this because I have changed the PDF document name? I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out what is going on! Thanks again for your time.
For internal files link, the program may automatically assign the file name; to say one, it renames the document if a document with the same name, but not identical, is already present in the internal archive (otherwise it would overlap).
So in case you are using internal links, take a look at the internal album (Hypertext >Images link file album and deletion) and, maybe delete unused object (the program does not delete unused things itself unless you ask it to do). My guessing is that you inserted a document (e.g. mickey.pdf) then you changed it and you linked it again (the new file, but with the same name) so the program found an existing mickey.pdf in the album (but different from the new one) and renamed the new mickey.pdf to another name in order to avoid possible overlap errors (it can not know if mickey is an updated version of the same file, or it is a completely separate document).
