me again. sorry about this. I just completed my first set of CDROMS for a magazine.
When you insery the CD it plays a video of the magazine editor introducing it. For some reason however, the video clip won't play on some computers. They are PCs and quite old. My tech guys have tried everything, from downloading flash and media player onto said old computer, to changing the file to quicktime and MOV.
The quicktime file took ages to load and nearly made my collegue's computer blow up. I need to ship these off to America tomorrow- what can I do??I know you have had this question before but those answers didn't work for me. Thanks!

try to change to WMV (or maybe MPEG / AVI) by using the less sophisticated subformat available from the program you use for managing videos. If this doesn't work, you probably need to use another program to convert videos (there are hundreds of video converter software products)
Sometimes the PC just has too old codecs so the solution is to download the Microsoft upgrade for the Media Player on the PC (do not download the "1000 free codecs" packages you find on the net: most are the cause of the malfunctioning rather than the cure) .
Remember that even if a good choice of the format will be ok for 99% PCs, there is not a solution that guarantees the CD is ok on 100% computers, so you must accept this as a fact. Usually it is good to provide a link such as "click here to start the video in the default player" (you can do this with Insert >Link and the 4th tab) so if the user has some strange player installed he/she is at least able to try with them.
