Is there any way to paste html into ebook pages?
Posted by: Support Staff Posted on: May 5th, 2003, 2:24pm
No, EBooksWriter is not an "HTML" product. If you want to "waste time" writing code... please get another product .
You can copy & paste images and texts from the browser, and you can import HTML *content* with "File >Import".
EBooksWriter uses its own browser, so it is independent from what the user has installed on his PC.

Thanks for the reply. I don't actually want to 'waste time writing code', I just wanted to place a internet search-engine box on the top of the first page and was wondering how I went about it. Now I know.

A search engine box is usually just a "form", with something like POST="", some box and a button.
With EBooksWriter GOLD you can insert a form, visually.
However I can't understand why to insert an Internet search box within an ebook: usually an ebook is intended for a standalone (non-connected) use.
A better idea would be to point the guy (the reader) to a page of your Web site if you want the user to go to the Internet / search the Internet / etc. (this way you gain a visitor for your Website, while with a search engine you give out a free visitor for another site).
If you wanted to introduce a search engine into the ebook, EBooksWriter automatically includes its own search engine within any ebook built with the program (in any case, an external Internet search engine / script / etc. will not work internally on an ebook).
Hope we have been exaustive
