Hey all I have an inventory list for all my products. How can I put on my site a search engine for this list? or can I put the whole list on it`s own webpage and have a search bar on top and when one types in the part # the page will drop to the part? I have no idea how to do any of this, any information or somthing step by step will be great. All information is greatly appreciated. Paul

Hi! Nowadays almost all servers have a preinstalled "search engine" script. Check your Control Panel and/or ask your host. Usually it is needed to activate it, then to place a few code on the page to show the search box (the code can be inserted with Insert >HTML >Within text )

Yes. You should install a search engine script on the server (ask your host for this; sometimes a similar script is pre-installed in the Control Panel). Example www.get-software.info Other sites created with EWE: www.easywebeditor.com/forum/sites/

But I am looking for something more like the database search that happens at yyyyy .com where you enter specific info and it searches each page for that data and selects the appropriate pages that meet my search, is that obtained from the search engine script or is that something your software can do or do I need something additional? I can see your software will take of the page designs and such great but I am in need of creating this form of search engine to search my pages and produce a list of links

Any search on a web site is powered by the web server (it is the web server that runs / shows the pages) so it has usually nothing to do with the software you use for creating the web pages. A script ("a script" is a short way to describe "a computer program") running on the server can do virtually everything, so you may have a script with a simple search; a script with a complex search. Ask your host for a list of the available scripts. You may also hire a programmer in order to create a specific script that will fit your specific needs. By the way, some large web sites are not created with web editors such as EasyWebEditor, but they are dynamically obtained with a series of scripts (a script shows the web pages by reading a database; another script searches the database; etc.). Of course for a large web site you need to hire a designer or a design studio with lots of programmers... some sites are the result of a 100000$ or even 1M$ job (and more...).
