Is it just me - or is it a program fault? Has anyone managed to update just those pages that have been changed? All my pages/pics end up "selected" and it takes forever to upload site. Gary PS Check my animal rescue site at www.friendsofanimalsmullingar.com - I'll love to hear your suggestions! Also, could you note the load speed for the index page - it seems to take forever!

In the bottom left of the publishing window, there is a checkbox "modified pages only". Please make sure to check it. Then this program setting will be stored (actually it is the default, but maybe you incidentally unchecked it).
If your index page is too slow, we'd suggest to remove some images / graphics. The home page of a site is very important and should load fast. You can show your graphic talent inside the other pages

1. If only the answer (and I) were that simple...... 2. I have also tried previously mentioned "solution" of refreshing page - no joy. If its a bug, without any solution, please just say so - its very important in Ireland where we pay per sec for tel time, on top of USD90 per month rental ! It spoils an otherwise reasonably stable (if expensive) product. Regards, Gary. PS I also get the problem mentioned by another user, of occasional error messages in Italian, - more an anusement than a problem!

Again, it is *not* a bug. It does perfectly work.
I am the one that does mantain the EasyWebEditor site and I can assure that the editor do publish ONLY the modified pages, if that checkbox is checked. I seldom do this work with a slow connection (we are in Italy and the Internet is not so fast out of the main cities). I know what I say.
To have this automatic update correctly working, it is very important you don't touch the "prefix" (the prefix of the automatically generated file names) that's used for the automatic detection. The prefix is in the "Hypertext >Current hypertext options" dialog, first tab, on the right.
On some EWE versions, this prefix may be automatically modified if you use the "Save as" feature for the Hypertext/Site.
I think there are no other possible error causes, but if you email us and point us the URL we can take a look and maybe from the site we will be able to understand if any other mistakes.
The program does work... when there's something that might be a program fault maybe you'll find "evasive" replies, but when we are sure we are sure

Thanks for the reply. Ive tried Hypertext/current hypertext properties - 3 tabs on dialogue - information/page settings,background/cart. Have I got an old version? Help/info shows version 3.11.130.246

In the first tab there is a box with the label "prefix" besides. This is present since 3.0 If you email we can send you a screen shot. Regards

Found it! - all ok. I'll just have to continue manually selecting as before. I'm more concerned at speed of site loading - I notice that while most pages and pictures are about 10k, the CSS file is 350k and take about 90sec to upload. Could this be the problem? Does entire CSS file have to be read before index page can be displayed? Happy New Year! Gary

1)If you select "automatically select modified items" the program does automatically publish the modified pages only.
2)The CSS style sheet file does contain the Styles you defined (or that have been automatically defined if you imported text from Word or other software). Just use Format >Styles and delete the unused styles (select a style name then hit the DEL key of the keyboard). A normal size for this file is 2-3K. If 350K it is likely you have a lot of crap...

1. Auto select does not work..still. 2. Discovered the CSS problem last week & redid web site from scratch, reduced CSS file to 4k. As I added more pages it has increased to 24k. I'll check out the Styles tonight - thanks.

1) it works for everybody (by the way I am the guy that do maintain the EasyWebEditor website, and I can assure it works).
If autoselect is checked, just after you use "Publish >Internet - FTP >Publish on the internet" from the main menu, the program connects, retrieves the file list (right list), then it does automatically check (on the left list) only the pages that have been modified.
"autoselect" must be checked *before* the program does connect (if you toggle it when you are within the publish dialog, the setting will be effective *only* if you exit the dialog then you enter the dialog again). It is intended to be a memorized option / setting.
For an immediate effect please click the "Modified" button (after the right side list is complete).
