A friend of mine has asked me to create a small (~6 page) Web site for the Motel they own. The unusual part of their request is that they want to be able to make small text changes to the site themselves. I believe they are able to learn and use EWE. But, they know nothing about working with HTML, domain names, Web hosting companies, and so on.
My plan is to set up the domain using a low-cost Web site hosting company, and create the initial site using 1Site (just purchased; only a few minor problems so far). I will publish the site and get it set up the way they want it.
Then, I will have them buy EWE, and I will send them 1) the AEH file, and 2) the FTP settings information.
Does anyone know a reason this would not work?
Can an AEH file made using 1Site be read using EWE?
Do I need to send them all the original image files also? Or can they continue to use the images that the AEH file contains?
Thanks in advance for your thinking on this.

I see no problems. EWE can definitely open 1SITE files .
You should send him the AEH file and maybe a screen shot image with the FTP settings (ALT + Print Screen to take the shot, then SHIFT + Ins within an email or within a MSWord document).
You don't need to send images etc...

We have improved this: the new editions of EWE and 1SITE do include a button "Load" and "Save" within the FTP settings dialog.
This way, the FTP settings can be saved to a small text file, that may be sent by email - this is very handy if you have a friend that is not so versed with settings.... You send the file, tell him to press the "Load" button within the FTP dialog, and his setup will be ok without any other hassles.
Indeed, this is handy also for Web Hosts / Hosting companies: just one text file, and also a "dumb" client can publish his/her website with EasyWebEditor... without any support issue
By the way our partner DewaHost is already able to supply this file on request (so in case you have problems setting up the FTP, just ask for the file and you will be up and running in 2 seconds )..........
