Topic Summary
Posted by: Zephyr Posted on: Jul 15th, 2005, 3:23pm
15 yrs ago I created a multipage site using Arachnophilia. Other than uploading minor changes, I haven't done anything web-wise, since--except lose the whole thing by changing my ISP.

Well, 1st I got my own domain from VistaPages, pursuant to a complete re-do, thinking it would be EASIER than trying to relearn HTML.  Naturally, EASYwebeditor caught my eye.

I've had EWE for about 2 wks, downloaded the manual, read thru it twice (skimmed actually, with brief stops where more intensity was required), messed with frames until I "got it" and went on to tables where I died.

I've tried using an old template from my defunct site as one of my frame-set pages just for practice  because it well could end up being one of my minor  links.

Here's the problem: my text (genealogy table) goes from upper-left gradually down to lower-right with every other line indented a little more than the two above it.  I wanted a picture inserted in the space to the right of the 1st few lines of text but no matter what I do, it will only stay to the right of one line, pushing the other text up or down, to ruin the left to right declination of the text body.

I just don't seem to get tables. And the manual, including FAQ's, aren't very clear.  Should I now admit to being a helpless geezer that needs to get some highschool kid to build my site or can you give some understandable direction?

Not sure if I understood, but a possible solution would be:

- create a 1 x 1 table and place the first 1/2 of the text
- create a 2 col x 1 row table, place on the right side the second 1/2 of the text, and the image on the left side

For other info about the tables (and the reasons for using them) please see the Chapter "Graphics and paging pages" of the PDF manual.........
