does the software help you build a database as well? I need to start using databases and only know html, I am not familar with sql or php

Well, to use databases you must study databases.... you can insert PHP or other codes with Insert >HTML, you can have the program to write .php files (instead of .htm) with the Options button that's in the Publishing dialog, but you must study PHP. Or another language.
However a formal database is not always needed for a web site, some times it is something that just adds a lot of effort, overloads the web server, and does nothing really useful...
People selling 1000-1500 products (or even more) are very often fine with HyperPublish www.hyperpublish.com and no formal databases ... Actually HyperPublish permits you a fast page / links / product management thanks to its *internal* database that's active when you are in edit-mode; while the website is published as plain Html, so you have some editing speed advantages without having the database hassles / database programming on the server...
