Title: Styles / CSS
Post by Gary Toolan on May 28th, 2004, 11:16am
1.  After reinstalling EWE, my text styles file is 620k !!
This makes my index page impossiblly slow to load.

If I try to delete any styles it says "style not found".

Is there any way to delete file completely, so that it is rebuilt when EWE is restarted?

Or can I edit it manually in Notepad?

2. Also when I try to exit/save, I get an "access violation at 00000000" - only one copy of program in use.

Any suggestions welcome

To delete some styles, just use "Format >Styles", then select a style and hit the DEL button of the keyboard.
You may also hit the "Trash" button.

As for the other error, please refer to support@visualvision.com

You refer to deleting styles one-by-one.
As i have more than 120 of each style, it would take weeks!!
That is why I asked: Is there any way to delete file completely, so that it is rebuilt when EWE is restarted?
Or can I edit it manually in Notepad?
If not I will have to change to another program, as the size of CSS file slows down the site too much.

Gary

There isn't a "Styles file" within EWE, it is generated dynamically. It wouldn't take so much to delete 100 styles. You hit the DEL key 100 times. While writing your two posts, you have hit about 800 different keys.... :)

by the way the new EasyWebEditor release do limit the "styles proliferation" that is due to MSWord / Office clipboard import (actually this was due to the way they use to place their data on the clipboard... seldom not the right way)

Why blame MS, when cut/paste is the method recommended by the Support Staff?
If it were only 100 styles....its 128 of EACH style!!
The more I use this program, the more i realise its too bug ridden for serious web maintenance!
And, therefore, seriously overpriced.
This is not a critism of the support provided, just a poor product.
