Title: import existing web-site
Post by John Miller on Aug 28th, 2005, 9:05pm
I have inherited the web-site from the web-master at our Toastmasters club.  There is an existing site hosted by godaddy.com.  How do I update the existing web-site usine EWE?

Many thanks for your help

Open a new EWE file.

Then re-create the website.

You can import texts with copy and paste from the browser (you select the text within the browser, Edit >Copy, then go to EasyWebEditor, Edit >Paste).

For the images, right click the image then choose "Save as..." or "Save image as..." then you can insert the image within EasyWebEditor with Insert >Image.

If you need an automatic import, please get 1SITE www.1site.info that features a basic HTML import.

Then, at the first publishing attempt (hit F1, click Tutorials, see the Internet FTP publishing tutorial), before pressing the big "Publish" button, select all the files on the right side of the publishing dialog (e.g. with the mouse, or with the cursor keys) then press the DEL key on the keyboard (this will erase the old web files and will avoid the old site interfering with the new one) :)

I have downloaded the website via ftp to a local drive on my PC.  How do I load the files into the EWE IDE?

You can not "load" (unless you have 1SITE, File >Import, then HTML format).
Please read above!
