Title: Image information
Post by Gabrielle on Jul 12th, 2008, 4:10pm
I have a web site with pictures on it.  When I go on the internet and right click on the picture, I get this as this information as image properties /web_site_i000043.jpg/.  Is there a way to rename the image so the original image name appears on the web page?

in the publishing dialog, click the Options button then check the option about image names.

By the way be warned that doing this you may cause broken image links.

OK, That sounds bad.  I guess I should leave them alone.  Can a search engine locate them this way?  I am a novice, but am trying to help my site in this area.
Thanks for your help!

for the search engines (and also for visually impaired people of course), it is important to specify an alternative text for each image.

right click the image

then the alt text should be inserted in the box at the top left

a good (and short) text there could help search engines. And will make your website more accessible for everybody :)
