Title: First Time User
Post by Yemaya on Jan 24th, 2004, 11:06pm
Hi out there. . . . . .

Well, I've spent over an hour now, messing around with this program.  I hate to say, I find EasyWebEditor, anything but easy.

I use to use Microsoft FrontPage, which was indeed easier. . . .. .

All I want to do is reproduce a Front Page web page that I previously created.  Is there a way to upload a page into this program. . . . .

I'm just about ready to throw this program out!

Any help through the initial stages will be greatly appreciated.

EasyWebEditor is different from Front Page, as it manage the Website "at once" without messing with HTML files.

If you are used to HTML and want to mess up with tons of text and images files, you won't like the EasyWebEditor approach, at least at the first sight.

In order to copy existing pages you can simply use the clipboard copy and paste. Select an image within the browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape) click the rght mouse button, select Copy.

Go to EasyWebEditor, use "Edit " then "Paste" (or use the right mouse button).

The same for text blocks. Select a text block, then "Edit" and "Copy" (or the right mouse button). Then Paste within EWE.

With EasyWebEditor, everything is within the program, so it might be difficult the approach with the old files of an old site. We think the important thing is to create a Website quickly, not to waste time messing with files :)

Believe me and keep trying. I looked at dozens of programs, bought EWE, bought two others, tried them extensively, but came back to EWE and have not regreted it. I know how you felt at first, but spend half a day at it......well worth while.
