I'm currently evaluating Hyper Publish Pro trial version 3.9 and have just completed a preliminary publication.

Generally the application works okay, but does have a fair number of quirks in it's interface and operability. Read that comment as 'needs more development & testing'.

Having completed the first publication, I exported as HTML and started a new hypertext to test the import features. Guess what ? Importing the HP generated HTM files gives me 3 more or less blank frames !!!!!!!

Is there a known problem with HP's import feature ?

Yes, HTML import is in fact very poor.
Frames import is not supported.
You are supposed to save the files in the HP internal format (that can handle multiple files and images in a single file) and to use the import only to extract content from external files.

This is a known issue since version 1.0 but unfortunately a real good HTML import is too much difficult: once we will have this we could create another browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera and the VisualVision browser)... it's not our aim, for now... before this we have a lot of other requests that come first.

But we will try to improve! :)

Okay thanks for the frank feedback.

But that does impose a limitation for users implementing HP to supplement or augment existing tooling. If you are half way through a publication already crafted in HTML, you have to start again from scratch.....

......grrrrrrr ! >:(

Actually you can cut & paste most of the content through the clipboard... it should take half an hour or so for large works.
I know, 10 seconds would be better :)
