Title: Video types and Controls incl Audio?
Post by ezthinkr on Jul 1st, 2009, 8:20pm
How can I have a volume control show with the video controls for HyperPublish and CDFE?  This would be helpful to some users to the site hnhhats.com who want easy access to volume control. The audio track is embedded within the video file – currently in SWF format. I have tried workarounds using the FLV format but HP says that Flash must be SWF. (What formats will HP accept for video, with or without embedded audio?)

Thanks in advance!

BTW - I'm using SWF for the web site videos per their smaller file size. File size was not an issue with the CD versions.

Hi! When you insert a video as SWF, the program that creates the SWF can insert controls on it such as volume (and other things, you can insert a lot of things on SWF). So it is up to the program that creates the SWF, not to HyperPublish / EasyWebEditor etc.

If you use other normal video-only formats (use Insert >Animation / Audio / Video) such as WMV AVI or MPEG, usually the built-in viewer used by the browser automatically includes the volume slider (it is hidden only if you choose to not display controls, or if hte video is very small and so the browser is unable to find space for the controls).
